New visiting researcher Kevin Smets at European Institute
Kevin Smets is a visiting researcher at the European Institute. Kevin received his PhD at the University of Antwerp in 2013 with a study on Turkish and Moroccan diasporic film cultures. He currently holds a postdoctoral fellowship of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) for a research on Kurdish media, migration and conflict. His current interests include media and conflict, audience research, cinema, ethnography and cultural studies. Kevin has been a visiting professor at Free University Brussels as well as a visiting researcher at Bilkent University (Ankara) and the School for Oriental & African Studies (London).
