Turkey’s EU trajectory has for long been situated among the core of national and international concerns within the European academic circles and beyond. One of the fundamental issues surrounding the issue concerns the lack of rational debates in Europe on Turkish accession to the EU. The project entitled “INTERACT: Empowering Civil Society Dialogue between Turkey and France”, funded by the Civil Society Dialogue Program of the European Commission, and administered by Istanbul Bilgi University, Sciences Po-Paris and Institut Français d’Etudes Anatoliennes (IFEA), aimed to tackle this issue within the scope of the relations between Turkey and France. Its main goal was to eradicate prejudice and promote socialisation between France and Turkey through academic cooperation and thus the fostering of a rational debate on Turkey’s accession to the EU. This book brings together a collection of the selected academic and policy-relevant outputs from the project activities that were geared towards this end.
