“European Union Education – The EU in Education” Workshop Held in Antalya

The workshop titled “European Union Education – The EU in Education”, jointly organized by the Akdeniz University EU Research and Application Center and the European Institute of Istanbul Bilgi University in cooperation with the Teachers Academy Foundation (ÖRAV), was held on 13 May 2015 with the participation of teachers from schools across Antalya.

The opening remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Erol Esen, Director of the Akdeniz University EU Research and Application Center. This was followed by a presentation from Prof. Dr. Ayhan Kaya, Director of the European Institute at Istanbul Bilgi University, focusing on respect, recognition, coexistence of differences, interculturalism and intercultural education.

After the “Education Without Labels” seminar delivered by ÖRAV, the closing panel brought together Prof. Dr. Erol Esen, Prof. Dr. Ayhan Kaya, ÖRAV Education Director Esra Savaşan, Halil Serkan Körezlioğlu (Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Department, Directorate General for EU and Foreign Relations, Ministry of National Education) and Selman Çetin (EU Ministry Antalya Representative).

At the end of the workshop, participating teachers were presented with Certificates of Attendance.
