Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) 

 

The UfM was founded at the Paris Summit on 13 July 2008 for the continuation of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (Euro-Med) which was found in 1995.  The aim of the UfM is to make a strong relationship and institutional structure for collaboration between the European Union (EU) and the non-EU Mediterranean countries. 
The UfM is an intergovernmental alliance that tries to establish cooperation in the Mediterranean Region. The UfM provides a unique programme, including the subjects on the political, economic, socio-cultural area. The first objective of the UfM is to promote unity with peace, stability, safety and common economic success on the local integration. Also, the UfM supports intercultural dialogues with the principles of democracy, human rights and fundamental rights.
